Nah-Tem

Humans call them owls because of their uncanny ability to rotate their heads 360 degrees, their large eyes, and the soft downy feathers on their head. Their habit of rotating their heads around even while doing something else makes them extremely hard to sneak up on. The resemblance to an owl ends with their head as the rest of them looks much more human with five fingered hands and toes and a roughly human build it is hard to figure out what they evolved from but it is not anything similar to an Earth bird.

Highly involved in the galactic civilization the Nah-Tem were also the first race to officially encounter humans as they saved the race from extinction. The 2K deal is rather a mystery to everyone not involved with it. Most Nah-Tem could care less and have no interest in knowing what the deal was or why it was made. The Nah-Tem work side-by-side with the Homogeny in most endevours and haven’t really found another partner they can feel comfortable with as a race.

After all this time there is still a strong version of hero worship that many young humans have towards the Nah-Tem. The Nah-Tem in general ignore this as they feel to acknowledge it would also acknowledge humanity’s lack of maturity as a race.
